Jenny & Franklin, Finnebrogue Woods

A Golden Autumn Engagement Shoot at Finnebrogue Woods

Jenny and Franklin met me at Finnebrogue Woods on an autumn afternoon last October, surrounded by the beautiful colours of the changing leaves. The golden and red tones in the trees made for a perfect backdrop as we walked through the forest, with the sunlight filtering through and casting a gorgeous diffused light.

Starting Off with Coffee at Fodder Café

We kicked things off with a laid-back coffee at Fodder, the woodland café nestled within Finnebrogue. It was the perfect spot to relax and chat about their wedding plans before heading into the trees for the shoot.

Exploring the Forest Trails for Natural, Candid Photos

From the café, we took a stroll through the woods, capturing the little moments along the way. The setting was calm and quiet—a great choice for a couple who wanted something natural and easy-going. The changing leaves, earthy trails, and soft light gave us a dreamlike atmosphere to work with.

Using Autumn Leaves for Warm, Romantic Portraits

For some posed shots, we made the most of the vibrant leaves and late afternoon sun to add warmth and colour to their portraits. Jenny and Franklin were brilliant at just being themselves, which made the session feel effortless and real.

A Relaxed and Authentic Engagement Session in County Down

One of my favourite moments was when they were walking through the forest, holding hands, and I asked them to glance back over their shoulders. That shot—simple and full of connection—really summed up the mood of the day.
