Frequently Asked Questions

How long do you photograph on the day?

I usually arrive a few hours before your ceremony to capture the excitement of hair, makeup and all those little details. I’ll stay right up until about 4 or 5 songs after your first dance. However the amount of coverage you would like is totally up to you!

How much experience do you have?

14+ years…

I’ve always had a passion for art & design, growing up my father was an artist and it has had a big effect on how I see the world. I started photographing properly at university where I completed a foundation degree in Art & Design and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Photography. During this time I learnt how to hand process film & prints, use studio lighting, airbrush photos and design albums.

My first regular work as a freelance photographer was in nightclubs and events in 2010, I then started photographing food and drink images for multiple companies across Northern Ireland. I then started photographing weddings alongside my other work, but now it’s the area I specialise in. I currently photograph 30-40 weddings per year.

I am also educated in photo restoration, film processing/repair and tape conversions. I was recently featured in The Ballymena Guardian for my restoration work of my grandfathers 1950s film.

My wedding photography is regularly published in The Ulster Tatler and I was recently named as one of Wedding & Honeymoons Magazine “Top 20 Photographers in the U.K.”

What is your photography style?

I would describe my photography style as documentary and natural, I look for those big moments, big emotions! For your official photos just after the ceremony I like to give you direction but keep things super simple and relaxed.

How far do you travel for weddings?

I’m based in Belfast and cover all of Ireland, the UK and beyond! In 2018 I photographed my first wedding abroad and I’m always up for an adventure!

For weddings abroad I charge for flights, transfers and accommodation plus the cost of your photography package. I aim to arrive at least two days before the wedding in case of delays. This also gives me the chance to locate the best photo spots and of course check out the venue!

I have experience photographing at some of the top wedding venues around the country including Hillsborough Castle, Larchfield Estate, Montalto Estate, Tullyveery House, The Old Rectory Killyman, The Culloden Estate & Spa, The Galgorm Resort, The Merchant, The Barge Belfast, Seagrave Barns Dunany & Ballyscullion Park. My most popular venue recently has been Killeavy Castle.

How long do the photos take?

I aim to deliver your photos within 6 to 8 weeks, this includes all your digital files. Your album is then designed once you have selected your photos. I have also recently added an express edit so you can push your photos to the front of the editing queue.

Do you have insurance?

Yes! This is so important to have! I’m covered by Photoguard UK for public liability & equipment insurance.

What happens if you break a leg and can’t photograph our wedding?

I’m really lucky to have a lot of friends that are well established wedding photographers, networking is not only a fun part of my job but also an essential part. Rest assured I’d have called around and found a solution before even contacting you!
